Targets

The DDS Team has developed training targets that are designed to aid in training, progression, and consistency. Each target tests specific skills and will help hone and develop fundamentals as well as push high level progression. These targets are free and are printable by clicking on the "download here" link. Keep record of your distance, time, and dates you trained to provide you with the data necessary to track your progression.

Balance of Speed and Accuracy

BSAT Mod 1 (download here)

The Balance of Speed and Accuracy Model 1 target is capable of filling a wide range of training needs. This BSAT Mod 1 is great for warm ups, deliberate training, consistency training, etc. The target is designed to give raw balance of speed and accuracy data when paired with a reliable shot timer. Focus aim at the center ring and attempt to land all shots there. Increase speed until you can no longer consistently hit the center ring. The best time recorded when all hits were within the center ring is your balance or speed and accuracy. Once you know your BSA you can use it as a building block you improve upon and push your skill.

BSAT Mod 2 (download here)

The Balance of Speed and Accuracy Model 2 target is designed to push your fundamentals at speed. This target is shot from the holster, the par time for this target is 10 seconds with an added 1 second per miss. Each different sized ring must be shot with the corresponding number of rounds, the one inch rings must be shot once, the two inch ring twice, and the three inch rings three times. Make use of disciplined throttle control to push for a lower recorded time and better increase your balance of speed and accuracy. A target over the 10 second par and/or with no hit target areas is a failed attempt. Use the recorded times, distances, and dates to track progression and measure you BSA.

Minimum recommended distance: 3 yds

After your ninth round you will reload and engage the non-shaded area of the box with the corresponding number of rounds totaling six. The shot total for this target is fifteen rounds. A target over the 15 second par and/or with no hit target areas is a failed attempt. Use the recorded times, distances, and dates to track progression and measure you BSA.

TIP: Run this target with a full spare magazine so you can make up misses if need be.
