"Return to Rifleman"

America was founded and fought for by riflemen. Men that had to use rifles out of necessity for subsistence but more importantly in defense of their own liberty. These men were for the most part regular people, citizens who wanted freedom.

We believe a primary focus and discipline of the modern armed responsible citizen should be as a rifleman. There has been wide mainstream focus on specific disciplines like CQB and VCQB and privately owned equipment has mirrored those focuses. While these specific focuses are important, we think that the broader rifleman discipline is far more practical and effective. Coordination / communication, patrolling, tactics, fieldcraft, fittness, navigation, medical, and marksmanship are just a few of the many aspects of a riflemen's focus and should be understood by any citizen that truly embraces the duty to uphold our Rights and Amendments as well as our freedoms.

Marksmanship is a fundamental aspect of the rifleman mission. Being able to engage targets within 100 yds as well as targets out to 500 yds should be a standard expectation and something that can be accomplished with little effort. Understanding a service rifles capabilities and performance is absolutely necessary and should be continually tested.

Movement is another fundamental discipline as a rifleman. Being able to move effectively using cover and concealment, understanding flanking and bounding as well as withdrawing. Movement around others and moving as a team/unit are also essential to the rifleman mission. This by default requires the coordination with other individuals which is essential to a riflemen's success.

Communication with those around you is another fundamental aspect of the rifleman mission. Being able to communicate with those you’re moving with and around is vital and can lend to major tactical advantages. Communication under fire is vitally important and its a skill that must be practiced with others.

These are just the first very fundamental aspects of being a disciplined rifleman. Start here and think critically about the equipment you have, what makes sense for where you live and what doesn’t. Consider effectiveness and consistently challenge your reasoning for why you’re running your setups the way you are. Try not to hyper focus on gear that's tailored to specific tasks, missions, and skills. start with overall effectiveness and add as needed.
